Thomas Olsson reveals the new features in Advoco NetPBX™ version 5.0.

The new features are many in the latest version of Advoco NetPBX™, version 5.0, that was released on September 4th.
Thomas Olsson, technical manager at Advoco Software, tells us about some of the new features in version 5.0 and
shares his own thoughts on what he thinks has been the most significant changes.

What were the main goals the new version?

– Advoco NetPBX Version 5.0 is really just based on requests from the users. Most of the feedback has been about better
functionality and scalability. For example, we have a brand new administrative web for managing the whole system.

Tell us about some of the new features in this version.
– One new feature is that a user can have several phones. A user can for example have a number of different phones ringing
at the same time and answer the call in any of them.

Another new feature is that the users can be members of groups and answer, for example customer service calls, from any
phone. When it comes to customer service and call centers we have a brand new web-based tool for the agents were they
can log in and out from different lines, see line status and more. We also have a brand new administrative web for managing
the whole system.Additional features in version 5.0 are that you can have a block list for certain numbers and forward
incoming calls based on who is calling. These are just some of the new features and changes in version 5.0.

What has been the most requested new feature in version 5.0 among the users?

- There has been quite a mix of different requests amongst the users. But to be able to use multiple phones at the same time
and increased flexibility so that any user can join groups have been popular requests. Many have requested the new
administration web that makes it easier than before to handle the system. What technical changes have been made to the
platform? - An all new call control core that makes it easier to handle different SIP-trunks and call routing. Another important
technical change is the new design of the database that has improved the scalability and made the administration easier
and safer.
